2005 Library Transition Activities

The following photos were taken at various times during August and September 2005. They show rearrangement of the 2nd floor study area, the book removal process, and relocation of books to the warehouse.

  • A previous stack area on the 2nd floor, north wing, is emptied to make it a temporary study area for students
  • The 4th floor, north wing, is emptied to make a large staff meeting area and storage for items that will not be taken to the warehouse
  • Items are brought from other floors in the Library to the new storage area on the 4th floor

  • The Library Administrative Office and Systems Office are relocated to the 3rd floor of the south wing
  • Government Documents and the Map Library are combined to their temporary home on the 2nd floor of the south wing
  • Personnel from Plant Operations install a new book drop at the entrance to the south wing
  • A new study space is made on the 2nd floor of the north wing of the Library
  • Previous stacks are cleared of all books and shelves

  • Student assistants help move books to other areas in the south wing and to the off-campus warehouse storage facility
