Construction Update: March 2007
The remaining footings for the building have been poured, and the basement walls
have been constructed. Deliveries of crushed rock for the
base of the concrete basement floor are arriving on campus. The crushed
rock is covered with a thick plastic to form a moisture barrier between the
ground and the concrete floor.
The first section of the concrete slab was poured on March 21st. The remaining sections will be poured by mid-April. The structural steel work will begin in May. A lack of rainy days in Fresno this winter and spring has allowed the project to continue on schedule!
The library is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2008 at a cost
of $105 million, which includes Table Mountain's $10 million gift.
